Omexom Norway, business unit HV Power, upgraded Såner trafostation in Follo, eastern Norway. The upgrade is partly due to grid owner Hafslund Nett’s wish to strengthen the facility due to increasing short-circuit levels in the grid. Foreman Thomas Haglund, mechanic Krister Hansen and energy engineer Patrick Nielsen replaced the station’s 47 kV power switches for two transformer switch fields. The agreement with Hafslund Nett also includes replacement of main ground in the station, replacement of through-current transformers and surge arresters for 47 kV transformer and line fields.
In addition to this scope, Omexom Norway replaced and mount new branch rails in large parts of the station to meet today’s regulatory requirements.
