For the season 2021, Vålerenga Football and Omexom will be on the same team. Omexom joins as a partner and sponsor of Norway’s number one women’s football team.
The agreement was kicked off by energy fitter apprentice Adelina Lindi and VIF’s defender Andrine Tomter.
– There are many reasons why Omexom has chosen to support Vålerenga Football’s women’s team. They are good neighbors at Helsfyr in Oslo where we have our head office, at the same time as the team invests professionally and can point to results where sustainability and social responsibility are in focus. The team has a social profile that harmonizes with the mindset of our owner, VINCI Energies, and what we ourselves in Omexom Norway have. And their values could just as well have been ours – and vice versa, says Jørgen Thaule, director of marketing and communications at Omexom.
Omexom also has a stated goal of increasing the proportion of women among employees.
– This is also the basis for the collaboration, which will include a number of joint activities in the coming years. As part of the agreement, Omexom will also be Vålerenga Football’s HSE partner. Health, environment and safety are part of our DNA, Vålerenga is far ahead when it comes to injury prevention work and measures. There will be synergy effects for both parties in the agreement, says Thaule.
Vålerenga won both league and cup in 2020, and are qualified for the Champions League.
